Margaret Nicolson Martin is the owner of Labyrinth Works, a company that focuses on promoting the labyrinth as a contemporary and experiential tool to reduce stress, increase focus and gain clarity. Martin is trained and certified by Veriditas, the Worldwide Labyrinth Project in San Francisco. She has published two articles on labyrinth walking in the Clinical Journal of Oncology Nursing and is a member of the Labyrinth Society, a worldwide organization of labyrinth enthusiasts. Martin has completed two pilgrimages to the foremost medieval labyrinth at Chartres Cathedral in France. She is also the founder of the “Friends of the Labyrinth” at Audubon Park, the first publicly accessible labyrinth in Metropolitan New Orleans. In an article on labyrinths in The Times Picayune in June 2004 in which she is featured, she describes “the labyrinth as a metaphor for reaching our own deep center.”
