The 2004 poster contains the official logo for
The Secret Gardens Tour. New Orleans artist
Katie
Rafferty created the logo using the face design of brain injury
survivor, Ellie Waring.
“Ellie drew several faces and I chose this one because it
symbolized the dichotomy of brain injury--the left side of the face
is happy as a brain injury survivor was before the injury; the right
side signifies the post brain injury self: sadness, loss, tragedy,”
said Rafferty.
Rafferty added the flowers coming out
of the top of the head to depict the recovery of a brain injury
individual with sun representing the care given by loved ones and
brain injury healthcare and rehabilitation professionals.
